Event Details: Scottsdale Charros Youth Luncheon & Clinic
Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Scottsdale Stadium, 7408 E. Osborn Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85251
The Scottsdale Charros are dedicated to serving and supporting SUSD students, teachers and schools through a variety of educational programs, including the Youth Luncheon & Clinic. Each year 300 students from the SUSD are selected by their principals to attend this event. The students arrive at the stadium by the busloads to join Major League Baseball greats for lunch and to participate in an interactive baseball clinic out on the field. Students learn baseball skills from MLB’s finest, including Hall of Famers, players, and coaches with storied careers. Baseball fundamentals, fitness, teamwork and “everyday life” lessons are part of the day’s programming and the students, coaches and volunteers create a lifelong memory during one incredible day at the ballpark.
Coaches confirmed to date for this year’s clinic include Leon Brown, Larry Collura, John D’Aquisto, Mike Remlinger, Al Schmeltz, Mike Sember, Junior Spivey and Kelly Stinnett. Bios for these Major League greats can be found here. (Website will be updated as additional coaches are confirmed.)
