The Scottsdale Charros have a rich history of supporting education through programs based within the Scottsdale Unified School District. SUSD counselors are important partners in promoting these programs to students and parents.
Charros Liaison Program
The Charros support SUSD by investing not only dollars but their time as well, through the Charro Liaison Program. What makes our Liaison program so special? There are 30 members – boots on the ground – dedicated to working with each of our 30 schools, bringing programs, resources and scholarships to the schools and recognizing the district’s outstanding students and educators.
Education Grants
In addition to the $2,000 each SUSD school receives via the Charro Liaison Program, schools can apply for additional financial assistance for projects, equipment, and programs related to the classroom, athletics, or infrastructure that are not currently funded through traditional streams. Eight (8) Charros Education Grants of $5,000 each will be awarded this year. Submissions will open January 10, 2024 and are due January 31, 2024. Your principal will be asked to provide an overview of the project, the need for funding, and what your school hopes to achieve as well as a description in detail how the funds would be utilized in addressing the needs. If you have a program within your department for which you are seeking funding, please coordinate with your principal. Only one application per school may be submitted.
