Charros Award Stipends to Outstanding Fall Outstanding Athletes

The Scottsdale Charros awarded $500 stipends to each of Scottsdale Unified School District’s
Fall Outstanding Athletes.

Ethan Reniewicki has been a student in SUSD since kindergarten and is an accomplished swimmer at Chaparral High School, qualifying for state all four years. As a junior, he helped lead the 200 Free and 200 Medley relays to state championships. In his senior year, Ethan won individual state titles in the 200 Free and 100 Fly, and was part of the 200 Free Relay team that also took first. A top student with a 4.9 GPA, Ethan takes multiple AP and Honors courses and serves as President of the National Honor Society. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and volunteers as a swim instructor. Ethan will attend Ohio State University on swimming and academic scholarships, majoring in Finance with a minor in Art.

Evangeline Dunckley, a student in the Saguaro feeder system since Kindergarten, has been a standout Cross Country and Track athlete, participating in her 7th SUSD Athletics banquet. At the state level, she placed 7th, 4th, 4th, and 9th in her four years of Cross Country. With a 4.875 GPA, she’s currently enrolled in six AP and Honors courses and is a member of Saguaro’s Math and Science Academy. Evangeline has been selected for the Arizona 360 All-Academic Cross Country Team. She has volunteered at organizations like St. Vincent de Paul and Feed My Starving Children and worked as a camp counselor and shadowed a cardiologist. Evangeline plans to continue athletics while pursuing pre-med at Johns Hopkins University, aiming to become a Cardiologist.
