Principals Resources

The Scottsdale Charros have a rich history of supporting education through programs based within the Scottsdale Unified School District. SUSD principals are important partners in distributing funds to schools, teachers, and students.

Liaison Program

The Charros support SUSD by investing not only dollars but their time as well, through the Charro Liaison Program. What makes our Liaison program so special? There are 30 members — boots on the ground — dedicated to working with each of our 30 schools, bringing programs, resources and scholarships to the schools and recognizing the district’s outstanding students and educators.

Student Scholarships

The Scottsdale Charros offer six scholarships to high school seniors who are Scottsdale residents and/or graduating from Scottsdale Unified School District. Scholarship applications are assessed by a review panel based on the student’s overall record of achievements and activities with an appraisal of the qualities of intellect and character by student-selected references. Please make sure your graduating seniors are aware of the February 28, 2025 deadline.

Outstanding Teacher of the Year

Each year, the Charros honor 34 SUSD teachers. Please select your teacher and submit a few sentences about why this teacher was selected by your school.

Deadline for 2025 has passed. Please return in fall of 2025 for 2026 submissions.

Outstanding Student of the Year

Each year, the Charros honor one female and one male high school senior for each of the five SUSD high schools. High school principals, please select your students and submit a few sentences about why these students were selected.

Deadline for 2025 has passed. Please return in fall of 2025 for 2026 submissions.

In connection with our liaison program, the Charros provide each SUSD school with $2,000 in discretionary funding this year. Please submit a description of how you plan to use the Charros’ funds. Deadline for 2025 has passed. Please return in fall of 2025 for 2026 application.
